Discrimination and Harassment Policy

KIDDOS MENTAL HEALTH is committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all clients and staff. Discrimination and harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. Our goal is to ensure that every individual, regardless of their background, experiences, or identity, feels valued, respected, and supported in their therapeutic journey.

Discrimination

Discrimination refers to the unfair or unequal treatment of individuals based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, socioeconomic status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

A KIDDOS MENTAL HEALTH, we uphold the principle that all individuals deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Discrimination, whether direct or indirect, is prohibited. This includes but is not limited to discriminatory behavior in the following areas:

  • Access to mental health services

  • Methods, practices, or interventions

  • Communication and interactions between clients and staff

Harassment

Harassment refers to any behavior that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment for another person. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Verbal harassment (e.g., offensive jokes, slurs, insults, or derogatory comments)

  • Physical harassment (e.g., unwanted physical contact, intimidation)

  • Sexual harassment (e.g., unwanted advances, inappropriate comments or gestures)

  • Online harassment (e.g., offensive communication via email, text, or social media)

Harassment, whether intentional or unintentional, is prohibited within the practice and during any interactions with clients, staff, or other individuals associated with the practice.

Equal Opportunity and Non-Discrimination

KIDDOS MENTAL HEALTH is dedicated to ensuring that all clients have equal access to services and that all clients are treated fairly and respectfully, regardless of their background, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or other personal characteristics. We do not engage in discriminatory practices in the provision of services.

Client Responsibilities

As a client, you are expected to engage in coaching in a manner that is respectful to your mental health professional and others. Discriminatory, harassing, or abusive behavior will not be tolerated. If you have any concerns regarding the treatment you receive or any behavior that you find discriminatory or harassing, please notify your mental health professional immediately. You have the right to feel safe, respected, and heard during the course of your treatment.

Right to End Treatment

If, at any time, you feel that you are being treated unfairly or disrespectfully, or if you feel unsafe in the environment, you have the right to end treatment. We encourage open communication with your therapist about any concerns or discomfort you may experience, and if necessary, we will work to connect you with another professional.
